Associate Professor for Change Management
Dr Ann Mulhaney is the Associate Professor for Change Management at the Salford Business School’s Centre for Sustainable Innovation. Ann has both an academic and industry background, working with small and large businesses across the region.
As change management lead for the Centre for Sustainable Innovation, Ann delivers Salford Business School’s Help to Grow: Management course, supporting business leaders to develop strategies for sustainable growth and organisational development. She also works closely with organisations across a range of sectors to strengthen leadership capability, improve operational resilience and embed effective change practices.
Ann has led the design and delivery of business improvement, leadership development and innovation programmes that enable organisations to apply learning directly to real-world challenges. Most recently, she supported operational leaders at Mettler-Toledo Safeline Ltd through a tailored business improvement programme that delivered a 13% uplift in leadership skills, alongside measurable improvements in collaboration, change management and operational performance. The programme combined structured learning with live operational projects, helping participants build confidence, strengthen communication and create more consistent approaches to problem-solving while delivering tangible business impact.
Ann has also led the BUILD AI programme, working with microbusinesses to develop minimum viable products through the application of AI tools and processes, supporting businesses to test ideas, accelerate innovation and progress towards commercialisation.
