Researcher at Ecosystems and Environment Research Centre
Dr. Simon M. Hutchinson is a researcher at the University of Salford’s Ecosystems and Environment Research Centre (ERIC). His primary focus is on palaeoscience, utilizing sediment records (e.g., lake sediments, peat, cave deposits) to reconstruct environmental changes over the past 50,000 years. Additionally, Dr. Hutchinson investigates the geomorphological effects of human activities, particularly legacy pollutants, to inform environmental management strategies. More recently, Simon has developed the use of Digital Visualisation Tools (DVTs) to support access and engagement in environmental education though field work.
