Supply Chains, Procurement & Project Management Specialist

Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in Supply Chains, Procurement & Project Management at Salford Business School. He brings over a decade of industry experience from roles at Siemens, GEC, and the NHS. Transitioning seamlessly into academia, he is a seasoned educator, researcher, and purchasing and supply management (PSM) professional. With expertise in supply chain management, his research interests encompass gender-responsive procurement, Industry 4.0, negotiation, and circular procurement/sourcing. Stephen has contributed to leading academic journals and served as the institutional lead for two significant European Union-funded projects, exploring PSM skills (PERFECT) and Industry 4.0 (PERSIST). He also held key roles, including Vice-President of the International Purchasing & Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA) and co-founder of its annual Educator’s Workshop.

Holding a Ph.D. in Management Science from Lancaster University Management School, Stephen is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), CIPS Assessor, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI).
