Situated at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, MITIH is a hub for innovation in immersive technologies. Whether you are a freelancer, a small studio or an established business, we can support R&D or innovation projects relating to the following fields:

  • Virtual and augmented reality (VR / AR)
  • Virtual production for film and TV
  • Interactive technologies such as gaming, Esports

It doesn’t matter if your business is part of the UK creative industries such as film, TV, gaming or arts and culture; or if you’re using creative technology with applications in retail, education, health, built environment, industrial processes and manufacturing, we want to welcome you into our community!

Creative Tech Labs

Creative Tech Labs

Part of MITIH, the Creative Tech Labs workshops are three-day design sprints, ideal for businesses that are developing a creative technology project and require guidance to advance, implement or launch it.

Tailored support and funding

Over the course of the delivery of Creative Tech Labs, MITIH offer additional support to eligible Greater Manchester-based and innovation-led SMEs. Through secondary grants and innovation vouchers we can continue to boost collaborative projects and offer support, so that you can continue to work on your innovation project.

MITIH Events and Networking

Once you’re part of the MITIH community you can continue to access a variety of events, jams, roundtables, workshops and other knowledge transfer sessions, all designed to continue to developing your skills and widening your network across the creative industries based in Greater Manchester. These are held at least once a month. Some of these sessions will be delivered in cooperation with organisations across MediaCity and Salford Quays, such as Dock 10, BBC, ITV Studios, RecodeXR, AIX, MIF and the Lowry as well as in others in areas such as AI, Animation, TV/Film, Advertising, Audio/Music, and Mass Audience Immersive
